Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much do sessions cost?

Sessions prices differ, depending on session length, referral pathway, and funding options available (see below or email for more information).

Session prices range from $120 (not including gap payments/rebates) to $270.

Please contact us by phone or email to discuss your specific needs and associated costs.

  • Are there funding options?

Courtney is able to provide services under the Better Access (Medicare Mental Health Care Plan) scheme. Clients receive a rebate for each eligible session after full payment is received. For example, for a 1hr session, you will be charged $170. Once paid, your medicare rebate will be processed and you will receive $85.20 back from medicare, making the out of pocket expense for the session $84.80.

Courtney is also able to provide services under:

    -  NDIS as a non-registered provider

    - Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA)

    - National Redress Scheme

    - Workcover

    - Selected Private Health Insurers

  • Do you provide in person or telehealth sessions?

AYA Therapeutic Services is a Cairns based service. We provide both in person and telehealth appointments.

If requesting in person sessions, please contact us prior to booking an appointment.

Courtney will contact you directly to discuss session location.

  • Do you work with children and/or teenagers?

Yes, we accept referrals for children.

Prior to booking a session, please contact us to discuss the referral details and arrange a parent/carer only session.

When working with children, we ask for a high level of parental engagement, as parents are the key drivers of change for a child's mental health and wellbeing.

All sessions with children and teens, face to face sessions are preferred and Courtney will work with you to arrange a suitable location for sessions.

  • How do we refer ourselves/someone else to you?

You can refer yourself through our contact page, email, or by booking an appointment through our client portal.

Your GP, or other services, can refer to us via email.

For referrals for children and young people, we will require a parent/carer only session prior to meeting with the child/young person.
